To promote unity, cultural pride, and mutual support among Bamiléké families in Houston, while fostering the academic, social, cultural, and economic advancement of our members and future generations.
A thriving, united Bamiléké community in Houston that honors its heritage, uplifts its people, and prepares future leaders to succeed and contribute positively to society.
Nearly four decades of community building
Established in 1986 by Cameroonians from West Cameroon, LAFABAH was formed to create a sense of belonging and mutual responsibility in the diaspora. Over the years, the organization has grown in membership, structure, and impact, while remaining faithful to its cultural roots and communal philosophy.
Through structured governance, cultural stewardship, youth empowerment, and strategic partnerships, LAFABAH continues to evolve while remaining grounded in its founding values: unity, respect, service, and responsibility to future generations.
The principles that guide everything we do
Prioritizing the collective good of our community above individual interests
For individuals, culture, and institutions that shape our community
Preserving and transmitting Bamiléké heritage to future generations
Standing together in joy and hardship, celebrating and supporting one another
Giving back locally and globally through community initiatives
Building long-term legacy and preparing youth for success
LAFABAH operates across three core pillars
Through ceremonies, traditions, and cultural education, we ensure our Bamiléké heritage is honored and passed down to future generations.
Structured support systems that strengthen bonds across generations, standing together through celebrations and challenges.
Professional engagement and youth programs that prepare members for academic success and career excellence.
